In order to provide you with the best service, we partner with companies that specialize in different areas, such as “You Pack and Load” shipments, international shipments, and full-service movers that can professionally wrap and load all your items, including furniture, to ensure that every item gets to its destination in perfect condition.
Self-Pack and Load (aka “You Pack and Load”)
Typically the most inexpensive and often referred to as a "You Pack" type service. You are responsible for packing all of your belongs and loading them into the container that is provided. The container can be delivered directly to your house, or to save delivery fees, you may often bring your belongings to the closest freight terminal. The container is then transported, via land or ocean vessel, and then dropped at the final destination by professional drivers. You will be responsible for unloading the container. Note, the insurance on your goods is very limited due to the nature of the service, so it is particularly important to make sure your goods are appropriately packed and, if necessary, seek secondary insurance coverage.
Self Pack and 3rd Party Load (aka Professional Load)
This is the more traditional type of move, where you pack all your household goods and, on the agreed upon date, the movers arrive at your house and load all the boxes, furniture, etc into the moving van. The movers will carefully wrap and pad furniture before it is loaded. Your household goods will then be transported to the final destination and unloaded for you. Some international moves may require professional packing services when there is an ocean leg involved, due to the high incidence or breakage for self-packed items.
3rd Party Pack and Load (aka Professional Pack and Load)
This is considered a "full-service" move. In addition to the loading services described above, the movers will come and pack your belongings to prepare them for shipping. This is particularly important for large moves, international moves, or moves in which there are many fragile, high-value items. (The last thing we want is for your irreplaceable antique table to be ruined because it wasn’t packed properly!) Finally your household goods will be transported to the final destination and unloaded. If you desire, your household goods can also be unpacked for an additional fee.
